Where is the plug situated to top up the automatic gearbox on my 2.0HDi Xsara 51 plate (UK) yeay 2001? l took out the battery and tray, also put it up on a ramp and still cant find a plug or dipstick to top up??
As l said, theres no dip stick coming out the box, and no ''obvious'' plug on the side to fill up to the level as with other cars?

l think the modern gearboxes do not need top up frequently. They need a lubricant change only every 60000 km or so. At your next maintenance date, ask your mechanic to check it for you and top it up if needed.

a up mate most auto box is you fill though the dip stick when you have put some atf fluid in then make sure that you start it and run though all the gears before checking the level hope this helps
