Just collected our ''new'' '02 Picasso 1.6 Petrol this evening and on the drive home (about 30 min drive normally) the warning ''Stop Engine Temperature'' started displaying, temperature gauge spiked and the fan came on after the first few minutes of driving and would stop once the car had stopped. On checking under the bonnet the engine is NOT overheating. Again after a few minutes of driving it would start again. Typically the dealer was already closed so just had to pray we would get home, (took us 1 hour and 10 min). Has this happened to anyone else and if so was it a faulty sensor or something worse? This is our first Citroen.

you might find its just some dirt on the sensor esspecially if the engine is not over heating

normally citroen are really good my hubby works for them selling cars and we have a citroen c8 and had no probs and a picasso before that

just call the dealer in the morning im sure they will be happy to help
