Hi,

My Cit c3 is now 30 months old and already needs screen wipers changing. l have no idea if this is normal ( to need all 3 of them changed so soon) but that is irrelevant now as they are all damaged. Where can l get them changed - do l have to go to an aproved Citroen garage or can l use any other garage?l am a young woman- who doesnt know much about cars, but is brave enough to take it to a garage.

Thanks

l normally change wiper blades every year, so 30 months is very good going. It is theoretically an easy job, the blades just unclip from the arms, but it can be a bit fiddly. New blades usually come with instructions on how to do it. The main thing to be careful with is that u do not let the bare metal wiper arm, which is spring-loaded, smack back down on the windscreen once you've got the old blade off, as it could crack the screen.
l would also recommend u buy Bosch blades rather than cheapies. If u go to Halfords, they will have a chart at the wipers section showing u which ones to get, & l am pretty sure if u get totally stuck, they'd fit them too for a few quid.
Good luck!

Go to Halfords. They have books beside the wiper blades which will tell you the size for your car. They are quite easy to change. l just changed mine on my C2 at the weekend. They cost me £16.99 for the front two. Typically Windscreen wipers should be changed once a year - 30 months is good going!!! Do not go to a garage!!

C3 is r notorious for going through wiper blades at an alarming rate, the rear one does not last very long at all (usually about a year) & quite often all 3 r split by the time the car goes in for it is service at 2 years. And they're expensive as well, around £40-50 for the set from a dealer. Personally l blame the crap materials the French make the things out of. You're far better going to a local motor factor & buying a decent make such as Bosch, they will probably be cheaper & last longer.
