probably the switch under the handbrake busted or a poor connection. check the wire is connected properly. cant be much more than that.

l am not sure but it could be that you're car is running low on brake fluid. If it is it may be wise to get your brakes checked for a leak.

Check ur brake fluid level, if it is very low check the front pads & discs for wear & also check the rear brakes for leaks, Saxos r notorious for leaking rear wheel cylinders, they leak so bad that u can lose a great deal of brake fluid, this in turn covers the rear shoes in fluid, making them useless. Also less common but still worth checking though, have a look at the left hand rear brake pipe (the one that goes to the wheel cylinder), the bracket that holds the pipe & flexi hose in place can become damaged, the pipe if forced upwards & rubs on the body when the suspension moves.
