We do not get many problems with Xsara Picasso airbags where l work, l think the best bet would be to book it into a dealer and have them read the fault codes, this should only cost you 0.3hrs labour time. The only fault l can think of is there were problems with the on/off switch (the switch on the side of the dash you insert the key into to disable the airbag) on some cars (not just Picassos, a similar switch is fitted to most of the range). The dealer will advise you best though.
