l wanna connect a fuel heater to a ignition live lead but l dont know how to find one. is there an obvious one l can find? l am thankful to helpers for my previous questions.
hi again its a vow2b+ heat exchanger unit that will heat up cooking oil l am using in the fuel system. Its located along the fuel line before the bosch injection pump. The unit has batt + & - and a ignition live feed as a switch. l wanna wire it up but am afraid of messing up my ignition system so would prefer an alternative, hence the question. for anyone who has fitted one a good question would be where to fit the kit as the fuel line actually runs pretty much over the engine & there isnt much room!!!

a test light would be helpful

multi-meter.black to earth,then check for a switched live when your ignition lights go on..thats the live you need.

an obvious one would be at the ignition switch but l guess u know that, a Second place to go & maybe a better one would be at the fuse box. but maye a better question why would u want to fit a fuel heater ? is there no way of fixing the problem u have rather than trying to get around it ?

ok now it makes sense, ur best bet is to go straight to the ignition switch & to the battery for this, make sure u use the correct in line fuses, there r many holes in the bulk head that u can utilise to pass ur wire through just make sure its insulated to stop it rubbing through & shorting out,
remember to put u fuses as close as u can to the power surply.

justy a thought ur wiper motor will have a ignition live to it, but id get this option checked with an auto electrician first it.
