I've a dashboard warning symbol telling me to stop, it is only on intermittently and when l try to describe it to a mechanic they do not know what it is. It is shaped like an iron (that you iron clothes with) with a wavy line underneath and l think maybe another straight line underneath that. It is a red light and the dashboard stop signal comes on with it. l would be really grateful if someone could tell me what this symbol is.

It is a fluid lelvel warning. Better check gearbox fluid, steering fluid and brakes fluid. Also take a look at the oil level of the engine. While checkig all these, check also the sensors of these fluids, usually linked to an electric wire.
