My car makes a knocking nice when l go round a corner ( mainly left ) and accelerate at same time, if l go round corner without accelerating it is fine.I've even had my driveshaft done thinking it could have been the cv joint.My car is a citroen saxo diesel.

Did they replace the bearings? That sounds like a bearing.

l do not know the citroen, but most cars have a CV joint AND an inner UJ to look out for.
CV is go very quickly when the gaiter is not right as they get muck inside and wear like crazy, so watch for a bad install.
If it is mainly left turns was it the left hand CV you had done? Tends to be the CV on the same side as the turn - the inside wheel turns more on a corner.

If the drive was replaced, was it new or secondhand. The cv might not be great or there is also a bearing attaching the shaft to the engine for support, this could also be faulty. Return to where it was fixed and get a report.
Otherwise there is also a bearing on the top of the shock absorber but very unlikely to knock

Check all the engine/gearbox mounts are good condition,(or even fitted) the motor could be 'floating' and putting extra side pressure/torque on drive shaft

Hi, l did have the same problem, First l thought that is my cardan.
But was not that. it are the brake pads that knocking in their housing.
remove the brake pads and clean it all up, then a Little grease on the sliding parts NOT ON DISC OR BRAKE PAD.
It should ride and brake silent now.

check the anti roll linkage.. Had the same problem myself, they are really cheap and easy to sort yourself!! think ours was about £10 from local motor factors and the only other thing you need is a spanner the right size... was about a 20min job.. you may want to spray the bolts the night before with wd40 or plusgas just to loosen the gunk and road muck off a bit!!

its more than likely ur cv joint or bearings in your steering

l used to have a Peugeot 106 (Shared chassis with Citroen Saxo)

On my 106, as l cornered left while accelerating l would hear a knocking noise, but it was beneath me in the transmission tunnel! l was worried similar to you, l had everything checked, loosened & re-tightened. It still was there. In the end, l discovered what it was when my partner was driving & l was tailing tailing her, l saw the exaust moving excessively bouncing of an exhaust mount. The screw had rusted away, but it hovered there as though attatched, until it was forced right by turning left while accelerating, then the mount dropped slightly, & knocked the exhaust!

Nothing serious in the end, get ur car up on a ramp & start vigourously moving the exhaust side to side from front to back, see if it is loose.
